Documentary Australia Foundation     

Documentary Australia Foundation is Australia’s only not-for-profit that fosters social impact through documentary storytelling. DAF places documentaries at the heart of social impact campaigns, and surrounds the films with funders, not-for-profits, educators, policy-makers and the community to maximise social impact. The foundation acts as a fiscal sponsor for documentary films, providing them with Deductible Gift Recipient Status, therefore enabling philanthropists to tax-effectively collaborate with filmmakers to tell life-changing stories. 

DIGITAL UPGRADE ENABLEMENT PROGRAM

The Digital Upgrade Enablement Program involves the research, scoping, re-design, building and testing of a new digital platform. The platform will help introduce a new membership model and a new interface, as well as provide an online platform for filmmakers, donors, not for profits and educators to access our resources and to communicate effectively with each other.

2040 DOCUMENTARY

2040 is an innovative feature documentary that looks to the future, but is vitally important NOW. Award-winning director Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film) embarks on journey to explore what the future would look like by the year 2040 if we simply embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them into the mainstream. Structured as a visual letter to his 4-year-old daughter, Damon blends traditional documentary footage with dramatised sequences and high-end visual effects to create a vision board for his daughter and the planet.

BEAUTIFUL MINDS: THE AGENTS OF CHANGE DOCUMENTARY

The untold story of women fighting to tip the gender balance in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths exposes confronting truths about the absence of women in leadership – it’s 2018, but how far have we really come? 

Beautiful Minds charts the intrepid and intimate struggles of women whose inspiring stories are rarely told on screen.

Philanthropic focus: The BEAUTIFUL MINDS Outreach and Education project in partnership with Good Pitch Australia will work across sectors to bring a wide range of coalition partners together to make a lasting change for women in STEM. This extensive Outreach and Education project will increase awareness and participation of girls and women in STEM and entrepreneurship and inspire the current and next generation of women leaders - utilising the feature documentary BEAUTIFUL MINDS, a film which charts the journey of 77 female scientists undergoing extensive leadership training on a voyage to Antarctica.
