The Dry is the 2016 debut novel by Australian author Jane Harper. Staring Eric Bana, The Dry follows Aaron Falk's return to remote farming community, Kiewarra, to uncover an apparent murder-suicide in the town. The Dry received critical and box office success, grossing AU$3.5 million during its opening weekend, making it one of the highest grossing Australian film opening weekends ever. The film went on to pass AU$20 million, making it the 14th-highest-grossing Australian film of all time.
